LCD refers to a liquid crystal display, and TFT is a type of LCD. The former is dedicated to desktop computers and the latter is dedicated to notebooks. So, what are the differences between lcd and tft screens? Let's take a look together.
TFT is one of the various display technologies of LCD display. A direct comparison cannot be made. Only the differences between these display technologies in the LCD camp can be compared, as follows:
1. The full name of LCD is liquid crystal display, which is the most widely used mobile phone screen material. LCD display module price is low and it is in widespread use. It needs backlight support when displaying.
In the main screen material of the mobile phone parameter table, you often see some letter combinations such as TFT, IPS, SLCD, UFB, SNT, NOVA, etc. They do not represent different screen materials, but different display technologies of LCD. The most common LCD display technologies in mobile phone screens are: TFT, IPS, SLCD, etc.
2. TFT screen
TFT is a thin film field effect transistor, which is a type of active matrix liquid crystal display.
TFT lcd screen is characterized by good brightness, high contrast, strong sense of hierarchy, and bright colors, but it also has the disadvantages of relatively power consumption and high cost.
TFT liquid crystal screen: Each liquid crystal pixel on the liquid crystal display is driven by a thin film transistor integrated behind it.
LCD liquid crystal screen: The basic principle of the screen display is to fill the liquid crystal material between two parallel plates, and change the arrangement of the molecules inside the liquid crystal material by voltage, so as to achieve the purpose of shading and light transmission to display different shades, and they are well-proportioned. And as long as a filter layer of three primary colors is added between the two flat plates, a color image can be displayed.
TFT LCD screen: The composition of the liquid crystal display is not complicated. The liquid crystal panel plus the corresponding driver board (also called the main board, note that it is not the row and column driver circuit in the liquid crystal panel), power supply board, high voltage board, button control board, etc., constitute a complete LCD monitor.
LCD liquid crystal screen: The components that make up the LCD liquid crystal screen from front to back are: polarizer, glass substrate, Black matrix, color filter, Protective film, Common electrode, liquid crystal, Spacer, Display electrode, TFT, storage capacitor, glass substrate, polarizing plate, diffuser plate, Prism sheet, etc.
