How To Choose Lcd Hard Screen And Soft Screen

What is the soft screen of LCD liquid crystal screen? Which is a hard screen, first let's introduce their concept. The hard screen technology of LCD adopts horizontal arrangement as the arrangement structure of liquid crystal molecules. When encountering external pressure, the molecular structure sags down slightly, but the overall molecule is still horizontal, and the LCD hard screen is mainly an IPS touch panel. The LCD soft screen technology adopts a vertical arrangement as the arrangement structure of the liquid crystal molecules. When a finger is swiped across the liquid crystal display panel, there will be "ripples", and the LCD soft screen is mainly a VA type panel.

Let's analyze the difference between LCD hard screen and soft screen:

Liquid crystal molecules are arranged differently

IPS hard screen is a parallel arrangement of molecules, VA soft screen is a vertical arrangement of molecules. This has an impact on the response time of the screen. The inclination angle of the initial arrangement direction of the liquid crystal molecules of the soft screen relative to the direction of the electric field is extremely small, and most of the liquid crystal molecules need to be rotated by nearly 90 degrees during the driving process; while the liquid crystal molecules of the horizontal alignment technology of the hard screen are arranged at an inclination angle of 5 degrees compared to the direction of the electric field. Above, only need to rotate 80 degrees during the driving process, and most of the liquid crystal molecules do not need to rotate to the limit angle during the driving process. Therefore, the response time of the LCD hard screen is better than that of the soft screen.

The surface of the LCD panel is different

VA soft screen is a liquid crystal panel without a protective outer film. IPS hard screen is to add a layer of transparent resin material with higher hardness on the LCD screen to protect the outer film. In fact, the fundamental difference between LCD hard screen and soft screen is that the surface of the screen is coated or uncoated.

Differences in viewing angle

The viewing angle is an important indicator of lcd touch screen, especially for large-sized screens. The difference in brightness, contrast and color of front and side viewing angles will greatly affect the viewing experience. The VA flexible screen vertical alignment technology uses 4-domain pixel electrodes and uses the flipping of liquid crystal molecules in 4 directions to improve the viewing angle performance. The attenuation of side viewing angle brightness and contrast is improved compared with TN and other ordinary viewing angle LCD technologies, but the color is biased. There is still a big lack of migration, and the use of a compensation film is still not optimistic. The IPS hard screen technology uses an 8-domain design to increase the dispersion of liquid crystal molecules by applying different voltages to the two 4-domain partitions in one pixel, which improves the color shift. The horizontal alignment technology of the IPS hard screen is determined by innate genes. Taking advantage of its advantages in viewing angle, the side viewing angle display effect far exceeding that of VA soft screen can be achieved without the use of compensation film.

Different pressing characteristics of the screen

When the LCD soft screen is pressed with a finger or swiped with a fingernail, a relatively obvious water ripple phenomenon will appear, but it will disappear after a while and will not affect the image quality. The hard screen has a certain stability. Press it gently with your fingers, and there will be no obvious traces, which is conducive to screen protection, but the bonding process must be good enough.

Display effect is different

The soft screen has good color performance and a strong sense of hierarchy, but the viewing angle is relatively poor, and the touch will be distorted, and the high-speed motion picture is poor. The hard screen has a large viewing angle, fast response speed and accurate color reproduction.

IPS hard screen is indeed better in screen protection, viewing angle, response time, display effect, and color rendering. Hard screen technology has become the absolute mainstream of the entire LCD market.
